- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 1/2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 1/2 tsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp water (to thin, optional)
- Pinch of salt (to taste)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, and melted butter until smooth.
- Add rice vinegar, sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt; whisk until fully combined.
- If the sauce is too thick, add 1 tsp of water at a time to reach desired consistency.
- Taste and adjust seasoning—add more sugar for sweetness, vinegar for tang, or paprika for color.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- Serve chilled and store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week.
Notes
- For a smoky flavor, use smoked paprika.
- May substitute rice vinegar with apple cider vinegar.
- Adjust sugar to taste if you prefer a sweeter or less sweet sauce.
- Makes a great dip for shrimp, crab cakes, or french fries.
- Sauce thickens when chilled—thin with a bit of water before serving if needed.
