Description

Watermelon Sorbet is a refreshing, dairy-free frozen dessert made with ripe watermelon. It’s naturally sweet, light, and perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 cups watermelon, cubed and seeded
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp lime juice (optional)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Place the watermelon cubes in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove pulp, if desired.
  3. In a small saucepan over low heat, dissolve the sugar in 1/4 cup of the watermelon juice. Let cool.
  4. Combine the cooled sugar mixture, remaining watermelon juice, lime juice (if using), and salt in a bowl. Stir well.
  5. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish or ice cream maker. If using a shallow dish, freeze for 3-4 hours, stirring every 30 minutes to break up ice crystals.
  6. Scoop and serve once the sorbet is firm and smooth.

Notes

  • Use very ripe, sweet watermelon for best flavor.
  • Lime juice adds a bright, tangy note but can be omitted.
  • Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 1 week.
