- 4 cups seedless watermelon, cubed
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup tequila
- 2 tablespoons triple sec or orange liqueur
- 1 tablespoon agave syrup or simple syrup (optional, to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Salt or sugar for rimming glass (optional)
- Lime wedges and watermelon slices for garnish
Instructions
- In a blender, purée the watermelon until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove pulp if desired.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine 1 1/2 cups of watermelon juice, lime juice, tequila, triple sec, and agave syrup. Add ice and shake well.
- Rim glasses with salt or sugar, if using, by running a lime wedge around the rim and dipping in a shallow plate of salt or sugar.
- Fill glasses with ice and pour the margarita mixture over the top.
- Garnish with lime wedges and watermelon slices. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a frozen version, blend all ingredients with ice until slushy.
- Adjust sweetness by adding more or less syrup depending on your taste and the ripeness of the watermelon.
- Use silver tequila for a clean, crisp flavor or reposado for added depth.
