Description
This Viral Honey Butter Toast is a crispy, buttery, and sweet dessert inspired by a popular Asian café treat. Thick slices of bread are toasted to golden perfection and drizzled with a rich honey butter glaze, then topped with ice cream for a decadent finish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 thick slices of brioche or milk bread
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 tablespoon honey (plus more for drizzling)
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- Optional toppings: vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, fresh berries, cinnamon, powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) or use an air fryer/toaster oven.
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter, honey, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
- Score the tops of the bread slices in a criss-cross pattern (about 3/4 of the way through, not all the way).
- Spread the honey butter mixture generously over the tops and sides of the bread slices.
- Place on a baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden and crispy on the outside and soft inside.
- Remove from oven and drizzle with extra honey. Top with ice cream or other desired toppings and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use very thick bread (1.5–2 inches) for the best texture and visual appeal.
- Make it extra crispy by toasting the undersides with a bit of butter before baking.
- Add a sprinkle of cinnamon or crushed nuts for texture and spice.
- Best served immediately while warm and crispy.
