- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed mixed with 3 tablespoons water (flax egg)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher, leaving some chunks for texture.
- Add the breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, soy sauce, olive oil, cumin, smoked paprika, black pepper, and prepared flax egg.
- Mix until well combined; if the mixture is too wet, add a little more breadcrumbs.
- Form the mixture into 4 patties.

- Serve on buns with your favorite toppings like lettuce, tomato, avocado, and vegan mayo.
Notes
