Ingredients
Scale
Truffles
- 26 Golden Oreos
- 0.8 ounce bag freeze-dried strawberries
- 5 ounces cream cheese, softened
Coating
- 1 1/4 cups white candy melts
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
Instructions
- Process Oreos and Strawberries: Add the Golden Oreos and freeze-dried strawberries into a food processor. Pulse until the mixture forms a fine crumb.
- Set Aside Some Crumbs: Scoop out about 2 tablespoons of the crumb mixture and set aside for sprinkling later.
- Add Cream Cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the food processor with the remaining crumbs and pulse until a uniform ball forms.
- Scoop Truffles: Using a 1 1/2 tablespoon cookie scoop (or your preferred size), scoop the truffle mixture onto a piece of parchment paper.
- Shape Truffles: Roll each scoop between your hands to form a smooth ball.
- Melt Coating: In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the white candy melts and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth.
- Dip Truffles: Dip each truffle into the melted candy coating, then tap off any excess by gently tapping the fork on the bowl’s edge.
- Place on Parchment: Use a skewer to lift the truffle and place it back onto the parchment paper.
- Add Sprinkle: Quickly sprinkle the reserved crumbs over the coated truffles before the coating sets.
- Chill and Store: Store the finished truffles in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
Notes
- Ensure the cream cheese is softened for easier mixing and a smoother truffle consistency.
- Use parchment paper to prevent sticking while shaping and dipping truffles.
- Freeze-dried strawberries add a concentrated flavor without moisture, enhancing truffle texture.
- Adjust candy melts and coconut oil ratio slightly if the coating is too thick or thin for dipping.
- Store truffles refrigerated; consume within 3-5 days for best freshness.
