Description

These Strawberry Shortcake Truffles are a delightful no-bake treat combining crushed Golden Oreos, freeze-dried strawberries, and creamy cream cheese, all coated in sweet white candy melts. Perfect for a quick, tasty dessert or party snack, they require minimal ingredients and only 15 minutes to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale

Truffles

  • 26 Golden Oreos
  • 0.8 ounce bag freeze-dried strawberries
  • 5 ounces cream cheese, softened

Coating

  • 1 1/4 cups white candy melts
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Process Oreos and Strawberries: Add the Golden Oreos and freeze-dried strawberries into a food processor. Pulse until the mixture forms a fine crumb.
  2. Set Aside Some Crumbs: Scoop out about 2 tablespoons of the crumb mixture and set aside for sprinkling later.
  3. Add Cream Cheese: Add the softened cream cheese to the food processor with the remaining crumbs and pulse until a uniform ball forms.
  4. Scoop Truffles: Using a 1 1/2 tablespoon cookie scoop (or your preferred size), scoop the truffle mixture onto a piece of parchment paper.
  5. Shape Truffles: Roll each scoop between your hands to form a smooth ball.
  6. Melt Coating: In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine the white candy melts and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until fully melted and smooth.
  7. Dip Truffles: Dip each truffle into the melted candy coating, then tap off any excess by gently tapping the fork on the bowl’s edge.
  8. Place on Parchment: Use a skewer to lift the truffle and place it back onto the parchment paper.
  9. Add Sprinkle: Quickly sprinkle the reserved crumbs over the coated truffles before the coating sets.
  10. Chill and Store: Store the finished truffles in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Ensure the cream cheese is softened for easier mixing and a smoother truffle consistency.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking while shaping and dipping truffles.
  • Freeze-dried strawberries add a concentrated flavor without moisture, enhancing truffle texture.
  • Adjust candy melts and coconut oil ratio slightly if the coating is too thick or thin for dipping.
  • Store truffles refrigerated; consume within 3-5 days for best freshness.
