Description

Spinach & Artichoke Dip Party Squares are a crowd-pleasing appetizer featuring creamy, cheesy spinach and artichoke dip baked inside golden, flaky puff pastry. Easy to make and perfect for parties, game days, or holiday gatherings, these bite-sized squares are sure to disappear quickly.

Ingredients

Scale

Pastry

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

Filling

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup chopped frozen spinach, thawed and drained
  • ½ cup canned or jarred artichoke hearts, chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

For Egg Wash

  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Set your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and allow easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare filling: In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, Parmesan, mozzarella, chopped spinach, artichoke hearts, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Stir thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.
  3. Roll out pastry: Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the thawed puff pastry sheet into a 10×14-inch rectangle. Transfer this to your prepared baking sheet carefully.
  4. Spread filling: Evenly spread the spinach-artichoke mixture over the puff pastry, leaving about a ½-inch border around the edges to allow the pastry to puff properly.
  5. Apply egg wash: Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg. This will give the crust a beautiful, golden finish when baked.
  6. Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20–25 minutes until the pastry is puffed and golden brown, and the filling is set.
  7. Cool and serve: Allow the baked square to cool slightly on a wire rack, then cut into 16 squares or rectangles. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • You can prepare the filling mixture ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  • For added flavor, consider adding crushed red pepper flakes to the filling mixture.
  • Swap the mozzarella cheese with Gruyère cheese for a nuttier taste.
