Description

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken Legs are fall-off-the-bone tender and coated in a sweet and savory garlic sauce, making them a fuss-free and flavorful dinner option perfect for busy days.


Ingredients

  • 8 chicken drumsticks
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, vinegar, ginger, and black pepper.
  2. Place chicken legs in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over them. Toss to coat evenly.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or on high for 3–4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
  4. If you’d like a thicker sauce, mix cornstarch with water and stir into the slow cooker during the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  5. Before serving, garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve with rice or steamed vegetables.

Notes

  • For crispier skin, broil chicken legs for 3–5 minutes after slow cooking.
  • You can substitute drumsticks with thighs or wings as desired.
