Description

  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Optional: fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Rub the olive oil over the chicken breasts, then sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over them.
  4. Pour the chicken broth into the slow cooker around the chicken (not directly over it to avoid washing off the seasoning).
  5. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  6. Remove the chicken from the slow cooker and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing or shredding.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add sliced onions or lemon slices to the slow cooker.
  • Do not overcook to avoid dry chicken; check after 3 hours if using small breasts.
  • Use the leftover broth for soups or to keep the chicken moist when storing.
