Ingredients
-
1 1/2 cups BBQ sauce (your favorite kind)
-
1/2 cup chicken broth
-
1 tbsp brown sugar
-
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
-
1 tsp smoked paprika
-
1/2 tsp garlic powder
-
1/2 tsp onion powder
-
1/2 tsp salt
-
1/4 tsp black pepper
-
Optional: extra BBQ sauce for serving
Instructions
-
In a small bowl, mix the BBQ sauce, chicken broth, brown sugar, vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
-
Place the pork tenderloin in the slow cooker.
-
Pour the BBQ mixture over the pork.
-
Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until the pork is tender and easily pulls apart.
-
Remove the pork and shred it using two forks.
-
Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix with the sauce.
-
Let it cook uncovered on low for an additional 15–20 minutes to soak up the flavor.
-
Serve on buns, over rice, in wraps, or however you like.
Notes
-
Pork loin can also be used, but tenderloin cooks faster and stays lean.
-
Add a splash of hot sauce or red pepper flakes if you like it spicy.
-
