Description

Sliced caramel apple pops are a fun and mess-free twist on the classic caramel apple. Crisp apple slices are dipped in creamy melted caramel and topped with your favorite toppings, making them perfect for parties, Halloween treats, or an easy snack the whole family can enjoy.

Ingredients

Scale

Apples

  • 2 large apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp work well)

Caramel Coating

  • 1 package (11 oz) soft caramels (unwrapped)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream or milk

Other

  • Wooden popsicle sticks or skewers
  • Optional toppings: chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, crushed pretzels, sprinkles, melted chocolate

Instructions

  1. Prepare Apple Slices: Wash and dry the apples thoroughly, then slice them into 1/2-inch thick rounds, removing any seeds or core pieces. Insert a wooden stick into each slice and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  2. Melt Caramel: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unwrapped caramels and heavy cream. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the caramel is completely melted and smooth.
  3. Cool Caramel: Allow the melted caramel to cool slightly so it thickens but remains pourable, which helps it adhere better to the apple slices.
  4. Dip and Decorate: Dip each apple slice halfway into the caramel or spoon the caramel over the top, then immediately add your desired toppings to ensure they stick well.
  5. Set the Pops: Place the caramel-coated apple slices back on the baking sheet and refrigerate for 15–20 minutes until the caramel is firmly set.
  6. Serve: Enjoy the caramel apple pops chilled or at room temperature for a delicious treat.

Notes

  • Ensure apples are completely dry before dipping to help the caramel adhere properly.
  • For an extra touch, drizzle melted white or dark chocolate over the caramel after it has set slightly.
  • Best enjoyed the same day for the freshest texture and optimal crispness.
