Description

Schezwan Paneer Pizza is a delightful Indo-Chinese fusion dish that combines the bold, spicy flavors of Schezwan sauce with the creamy texture of paneer, all atop a crispy pizza base. This recipe offers a perfect balance of heat, freshness, and cheesiness, making it an exciting twist on traditional pizza, ideal for a flavorful main course.

Ingredients

Scale

Pizza Base and Sauce

  • 1 prepared pizza base (8–10 inch)
  • 1/2 cup Schezwan sauce

Paneer and Seasoning

  • 1 cup paneer (Indian cottage cheese), cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Vegetables

  • 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 bell pepper, sliced

Cheeses

  • 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup cheddar cheese (optional)

Garnish

  • Fresh cilantro or green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) to ensure it’s properly heated for baking the pizza.
  2. Sauté the paneer: Heat 1/2 teaspoon oil in a small pan over medium heat. Add the paneer cubes, soy sauce, chili flakes, and black pepper, and sauté for 2–3 minutes until the paneer is slightly browned and flavorful. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Prepare the pizza base: Spread the Schezwan sauce evenly over the surface of the prepared pizza base, ensuring full coverage for a spicy kick.
  4. Assemble the toppings: Layer the sautéed paneer cubes evenly over the sauce. Add the thinly sliced onions and bell peppers on top for a fresh crunch and vibrant color.
  5. Add the cheese: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the assembled toppings, followed by the optional cheddar cheese for extra richness.
  6. Bake the pizza: Place the pizza on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for 12–15 minutes, or until the crust is crispy and the cheese has melted and become bubbly.
  7. Garnish and serve: Remove the pizza from the oven. Garnish with fresh cilantro or green onions, slice, and serve hot to enjoy the best flavors.

Notes

  • Adjust the heat level by adding more or less Schezwan sauce according to your taste preference.
  • You can substitute the pizza base with naan or flatbread to make a quicker version of this pizza.
  • Add olives or jalapeños for an extra layer of flavor and spice.
