Description

These Sausage and Cream Cheese Biscuit Bites combine savory sausage, creamy cheese, and flaky biscuit dough for a delicious appetizer or snack. Perfectly baked to golden brown, these bite-sized treats are easy to prepare and sure to be a crowd-pleaser at any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale

Sausage Mixture

  • 1 lb sausage (I used Jimmy Dean brand)
  • 1 (8-oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese

Biscuit Base

  • 2 (12-oz) cans Grands Jr flaky biscuits (20 biscuits in total)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375ºF (190ºC) and lightly spray mini muffin pans with cooking spray to prevent sticking, then set aside.
  2. Cook Sausage: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the sausage until it is no longer pink throughout. Once cooked, drain off any excess fat to ensure a less greasy mixture.
  3. Mix Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the cooked sausage with softened cream cheese, Worcestershire sauce, and shredded cheddar cheese. Stir well until evenly mixed and creamy.
  4. Prepare Biscuit Cups: Remove the biscuits from the cans and split each biscuit into two halves. Press each biscuit half firmly into the bottom and up the sides of the mini muffin tin cups to form a small cup.
  5. Fill and Bake: Spoon the sausage mixture evenly into each biscuit cup. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the biscuit cups are golden brown and the filling is heated through.

Notes

  • Use full-fat cream cheese for best texture and flavor.
  • Drain the sausage fat thoroughly to avoid greasy bites.
  • Serve warm for optimal taste and texture.
  • These bites can be prepared ahead and baked right before serving.
  • Variations: Add jalapeños for a spicy kick or substitute cheddar with pepper jack cheese for extra flavor.
