Prawn Tacos:
- 1 pound raw prawns or shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 8 small corn or flour tortillas
- 1 cup shredded red cabbage
- 1/2 cup diced mango or pineapple (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- 1/4 cup thinly sliced red onion
- Lime wedges for serving
For the lime crema:
- 1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
- Zest and juice of 1 lime
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise (optional)
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the prawns: In a bowl, toss the prawns with olive oil, chili powder, paprika, cumin, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated. Cook in a skillet until opaque and lightly charred.
- Make the lime crema: Whisk together sour cream, lime zest and juice, mayonnaise, and salt to taste.
- Assemble the tacos: Warm tortillas, then layer cabbage, prawns, mango or pineapple, red onion, and cilantro. Drizzle with lime crema and serve with lime wedges.
Notes
- You can grill the prawns for a smoky flavor.
- Try avocado instead of mango, or add pickled jalapeños for heat.
