Description

A delicious and creamy Philly Cheesesteak served in a bowl, combining tender ribeye steak with sautéed bell peppers and onions, all smothered in a rich cheese sauce. Perfect for a low-carb, gluten-free meal that’s easy to prepare on the stovetop.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat

  • 1 pound thinly sliced ribeye steak (or shaved beef)

Vegetables

  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 small yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Dairy

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup shredded provolone cheese
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Pantry Items

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ cup beef broth

Instructions

  1. Cook the Steak: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced ribeye steak, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 3 to 4 minutes until browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  2. Sauté Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the sliced green and red bell peppers and the yellow onion. Sauté for 5 to 7 minutes until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Create the Cheese Sauce: Return the cooked steak to the skillet with the vegetables. Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, softened cream cheese, and beef broth. Continuously stir until the cream cheese melts completely and the mixture forms a creamy sauce.
  4. Melt the Topping Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded provolone and mozzarella cheeses evenly over the top of the skillet mixture. Reduce the heat to low and cover with a lid. Let it cook for 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese melts thoroughly.
  5. Serve: Once the cheese is melted and bubbly, serve the Philly Cheesesteak in bowls while hot. Enjoy!

Notes

  • You can substitute ground beef or chicken for the ribeye steak for different flavors and textures.
  • For a low-carb version, serve the cheesesteak mixture over cauliflower rice instead of traditional bread.
  • Adding mushrooms to the sautéed vegetables adds extra flavor and texture.
