Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake pan.
- Cream together butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Stir in orange juice and orange zest.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture alternately with milk, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

- Use freshly squeezed orange juice for the best flavor.
- You can add a simple orange glaze made from powdered sugar and orange juice for extra sweetness.
