Ingredients
Scale
Cookies
- 24 Nutter Butter Cookies (Milano Cookies)
Chocolate Coating
- 8 ounces Almond Bark (White Candy Wafers or White Chocolate)
Decorations
- 48 Mini Chocolate Chips (for eyes) or 2 ounces melted chocolate (for eyes and mouth)
Instructions
- Melt the Almond Bark: In a microwave-safe bowl, chop the almond bark into small pieces for even melting. Heat for 30 seconds, then stir. If not fully melted, heat in 15-second intervals, stirring after each until smooth.
- Dip the Cookies: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each Nutter Butter cookie into the melted white almond bark until fully coated. Lift and let excess drip off, then place the cookie on a parchment-lined cookie sheet.
- Add Chocolate Chip Eyes: While the white coating is still wet, press two mini chocolate chips onto each cookie to resemble eyes. The chips will stick as the coating hardens.
- Optional Melted Chocolate Eyes and Mouth: To create eyes and a mouth using melted chocolate, melt 2 ounces of chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl for 30 seconds. Stir until smooth, adding 15-second bursts if necessary.
- Prepare Piping Bag: Transfer the melted chocolate to a ZipLoc bag or piping bag and snip off a small corner to allow for precise piping.
- Pipe Facial Features: Pipe small dollops for eyes and an oval or mouth shape on each cookie. Allow the chocolate to cool and harden to set the design.
Notes
- If almond bark is not available, white chocolate chips can be used as a substitute, though melting properties may vary.
- Use parchment paper or a silicone mat to prevent sticking while setting.
- For added fun, colored candy melts can be used instead of white almond bark for different ghost themes.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
- Use a fork or dipping tool to keep hands clean while dipping cookies.
