Description
Low Country Boil is a classic Southern one-pot seafood feast featuring shrimp, smoked sausage, corn on the cob, and potatoes all boiled in a seasoned broth. It’s perfect for casual gatherings, backyard parties, or beach cookouts.

- 1.5 lbs small red potatoes
- 4 ears of corn, cut into halves or thirds
- 1 lb smoked sausage, sliced into chunks
- 1–2 lemons, halved
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
- 1 tablespoon Old Bay seasoning (or more to taste)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1.5 lbs large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined (leave tails on for presentation)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- Butter and hot sauce, for serving
Instructions
- Fill a large stockpot with water (about 4–5 quarts). Add lemons, garlic, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil.
- Add the potatoes and cook for 10–12 minutes until just tender.
- Add the corn and sausage; continue boiling for another 5–7 minutes.
- Add the shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes, or until pink and cooked through.
- Drain the pot and discard the lemon halves and garlic.
- Transfer the contents to a large serving platter or spread over newspaper for a traditional presentation.
- Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve with melted butter, lemon wedges, and hot sauce.

- Use shell-on shrimp for more flavor and visual appeal if desired.
- Feel free to add crab legs or clams for an extra seafood boost.
- Serve with crusty bread or coleslaw for a full meal.
- Use a seafood boil bag or cheesecloth to hold garlic and lemon for easy removal.
