Scale
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (or cornstarch for gluten-free)
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 1/2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (or tamari)
- 1/3 cup honey
Instructions
- Slice each chicken breast in half horizontally to make four thinner pieces. Season with salt and pepper.
- Lightly coat each piece in flour, shaking off the excess.
- Heat 2 tablespoons of butter in a large skillet over high heat.
- Cook the chicken for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Lower the heat to medium-high.
- Add the minced garlic and remaining 1 tablespoon of butter. Cook for about 30 seconds.
- Add the vinegar, soy sauce, and honey. Stir to combine.
- Let the sauce simmer until slightly thickened, turning the chicken to coat evenly.
- Cook for another 5-7 minutes or until the chicken is fully cooked. Serve with extra sauce on top.
Notes
- Use cornstarch instead of flour for a gluten-free version.
- Adjust garlic and honey to taste preference.
- Serve with steamed vegetables, rice, or mashed potatoes.
- This dish also works well with pork chops or tofu.
