Ingredients
Scale
For the Crescent Roll Ring
- 2 (8 oz) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
For the Filling
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
- 1/2 cup cooked and crumbled bacon (about 4 slices)
- 2–3 fresh jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped (adjust to spice level)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Optional Garnish
- Sliced jalapeños
- Chopped green onions
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easy.
- Prepare Filling: In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar, Monterey Jack cheese, crumbled bacon, finely chopped jalapeños, garlic powder, and salt. Mix until smooth and well combined to create a flavorful filling.
- Arrange Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. On the prepared baking sheet, arrange the triangles in a circle with the wide ends overlapping in the center and the pointed ends facing outward, forming a sun-like shape.
- Add Filling: Spoon the jalapeño cheese mixture evenly onto the wide ends of the triangles around the center of the ring.
- Seal Ring: Fold the pointed ends of the dough over the filling and tuck them under the center of the ring to seal everything in place.
- Brush with Egg Wash: Beat the egg and brush it over the dough ring. This step gives the ring a beautiful golden-brown finish when baked.
- Bake: Place the ring in the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until the crescent dough is fully cooked and golden brown on top.
- Garnish and Serve: Let the ring cool slightly before garnishing with sliced jalapeños and chopped green onions if desired. Slice into portions and serve warm for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Adjust the number of jalapeños according to your preferred spice level.
- Ensure the cream cheese is softened for easier mixing and a smoother filling.
- You can substitute bacon with vegetarian or turkey bacon if desired.
- Serve with ranch or sour cream for added flavor.
- Make sure to tuck the pointed ends securely under to prevent filling leakage.
