A flavorful Honey Dijon Greek Chicken Marinade that combines tangy lemon juice, sweet honey, and aromatic herbs to create a juicy and tender grilled chicken perfect for a healthy and delicious meal.
Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
Marinade
- ½ cup olive oil
- ½ cup lemon juice
- ¼ cup dijon mustard
- ¼ cup honey
- 3 Tbsp dried minced onion
- 2 Tbsp oregano
- 2 tsp paprika
- 6 garlic cloves, minced
- ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness using a meat mallet to ensure even cooking, then place them in a gallon freezer bag or shallow pan.
- Make the marinade: In a medium bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, dijon mustard, honey, dried minced onion, oregano, paprika, minced garlic, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper until fully combined.
- Marinate the chicken: Pour the marinade over the chicken breasts, ensuring they are thoroughly coated. Seal the bag or cover the pan and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight for maximum flavor infusion.
- Preheat the grill: When ready to cook, preheat your grill to medium-high heat to prepare for cooking the chicken.
- Grill the chicken: Remove the chicken from the marinade and place on the grill. Cook until a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the chicken breasts reads 165ºF, ensuring the chicken is safely cooked through.
Notes
- For best results, marinate the chicken overnight to deepen the flavors.
- Adjust the cayenne pepper according to your spice preference.
- If you don’t have a grill, you can also cook the chicken in a grill pan on the stovetop.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the chicken reaches a safe internal temperature of 165ºF without overcooking.
- Serve with a side of grilled vegetables or a fresh Greek salad to complement the flavors.
