- 1 lb large shrimp, shell-on or peeled and deveined
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour or mochiko flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Black pepper to taste
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 8–10 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)
- Cooked white rice, for serving
Instructions
- In a bowl, toss shrimp with flour, paprika, cayenne, salt, and pepper until well coated.
- In a skillet, melt 3 tbsp butter with 1 tbsp olive oil over medium heat.
- Add garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Remove from pan and set aside.
- Add remaining olive oil to the pan and increase heat to medium-high.
- Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for about 2 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through.
- Return garlic mixture to the skillet with shrimp and add remaining butter. Toss to coat shrimp well.
- Stir in lemon juice and parsley, then remove from heat.
- Serve hot over steamed rice with extra garlic butter sauce drizzled on top.
Notes
- Shell-on shrimp adds more flavor and authenticity.
- Use mochiko flour for a crispier texture.
- Adjust garlic and cayenne to suit your taste.
- Don’t overcrowd the skillet; cook in batches if needed.
- Great served with a wedge of lemon and a side of salad.
