Scale
- 4 white fish fillets (cod, tilapia, or sea bass)
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lemon slices for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, mix garlic, cilantro, parsley, olive oil, lemon juice, paprika, cumin, cayenne (if using), salt, and pepper to form a marinade (chermoula).
- Place fish fillets in a baking dish and coat them generously with the chermoula sauce. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes (up to 1 hour in the fridge for more flavor).
- Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
- Garnish with lemon slices and serve with couscous, rice, or crusty bread.
Notes
- Use any firm white fish that holds up well to baking.
- Marinating longer intensifies flavor but is optional for a quick meal.
- Serve with olives and roasted vegetables for a traditional Moroccan touch.
