Description

These Garlic Parmesan Mushrooms are an irresistible, savory side dish that’s quick and easy to make. With rich garlic flavor, a sprinkle of Parmesan, and a hint of herbs, these mushrooms are the perfect addition to any meal. They’re great as an appetizer or served alongside your favorite main dish!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb baby bella mushrooms (or white mushrooms), cleaned and sliced

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme)

  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary (or 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary)

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Prepare the mushrooms: Clean and slice the mushrooms. Set them aside.

  • Cook the mushrooms: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Once the butter is melted and sizzling, add the sliced mushrooms. Stir occasionally and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are golden brown and tender.

  • Add the garlic and herbs: Reduce the heat to medium, and add the minced garlic, thyme, and rosemary to the skillet. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, until the garlic becomes fragrant and slightly golden.

  • Add the Parmesan: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt and coat the mushrooms. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  • Garnish and serve: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Serve immediately as a side dish or appetizer!

Notes

  • You can use other types of mushrooms (like cremini or portobello) for a different flavor and texture.

  • For extra richness, drizzle a bit of heavy cream into the skillet right after adding the garlic and herbs, and stir until creamy.

  • Feel free to add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice at the end for a nice burst of freshness.
