Ingredients
-
1 lb baby bella mushrooms (or white mushrooms), cleaned and sliced
-
2 tablespoons olive oil
-
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
4 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 teaspoon fresh thyme (or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme)
-
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary (or 1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary)
-
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
-
Salt and pepper, to taste
-
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
-
Prepare the mushrooms: Clean and slice the mushrooms. Set them aside.
-
Cook the mushrooms: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium-high heat. Once the butter is melted and sizzling, add the sliced mushrooms. Stir occasionally and cook for about 5-7 minutes until the mushrooms are golden brown and tender.
-
Add the garlic and herbs: Reduce the heat to medium, and add the minced garlic, thyme, and rosemary to the skillet. Cook for another 1-2 minutes, until the garlic becomes fragrant and slightly golden.
-
Add the Parmesan: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt and coat the mushrooms. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
-
Garnish and serve: Remove from heat and garnish with fresh chopped parsley. Serve immediately as a side dish or appetizer!
Notes
-
You can use other types of mushrooms (like cremini or portobello) for a different flavor and texture.
-
For extra richness, drizzle a bit of heavy cream into the skillet right after adding the garlic and herbs, and stir until creamy.
-
Feel free to add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice at the end for a nice burst of freshness.
