- 1/2 pound large shrimp (peeled and deveined)
Sauces and Oils
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Seasonings and Flavorings
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 garlic cloves (minced)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions (sliced)
Instructions
- Cook the noodles: Prepare the noodles according to the package instructions until they are tender. Drain well and set aside to keep warm.
- Sear the steak: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the thinly sliced steak and cook for 2–3 minutes until browned on all sides. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
- Cook the shrimp: In the same pan, add 2 tablespoons of butter, then add the shrimp. Cook for 2–3 minutes or until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through. Remove and set aside with the steak.
- Sauté garlic and build sauce: Reduce heat to medium. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and minced garlic to the pan. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Stir in soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sesame oil, black pepper, and red pepper flakes to create the sauce.
- Toss noodles with sauce: Add the cooked noodles into the pan with the sauce. Toss thoroughly to coat the noodles evenly in the garlic butter sauce.
- Combine and heat through: Return the cooked steak and shrimp to the pan. Toss everything together carefully and cook until all ingredients are evenly heated through and well coated with the sauce.
- Garnish and serve: Sprinkle sliced green onions over the noodle stir fry and serve immediately while hot for best flavor and texture.
Notes
- You can substitute shrimp or steak with chicken or tofu if preferred.
- Add stir-fried vegetables like bell peppers, snap peas, or mushrooms for extra flavor and texture.
- To make dairy-free, use plant-based butter instead of unsalted butter.
