Description

Delicious and easy-to-make Garlic Breadsticks featuring a soft Greek yogurt dough, topped with melted butter, garlic, shredded cheese, and Italian seasoning. Perfectly baked to golden brown and served warm as a savory snack or appetizer.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 1 batch Greek yogurt dough (see notes for alternatives)

Toppings

  • 1/4 cup butter (or olive oil)
  • 3 tablespoons garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a large baking tray with parchment paper and set it aside.
  2. Prepare the Dough: Combine the Greek yogurt with flour to form a smooth dough. Shape the dough into a rough rectangular shape. Transfer the dough onto the prepared baking tray.
  3. Brush the Dough: Using a pastry brush, lightly coat the top of the dough with melted butter or olive oil, covering the entire surface.
  4. Prepare the Garlic Mixture: In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter (or olive oil) with minced garlic. Brush this mixture generously over the top of the dough, ensuring to leave a half-inch border around the edges.
  5. Add Toppings: Sprinkle shredded cheese evenly over the top of the dough, followed by Italian seasoning for added flavor.
  6. Bake the Breadsticks: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-17 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the cheese has fully melted.
  7. Slice and Serve: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with more Italian seasoning if desired. Use a pizza cutter to slice the baked dough into breadsticks. Serve warm with your favorite sauce.

Notes

  • You can substitute Greek yogurt dough with regular pizza dough or biscuit dough if preferred.
  • Butter can be replaced with olive oil for a lighter alternative.
  • Try different cheeses such as mozzarella, cheddar, or parmesan for varied flavor profiles.
  • Store leftover breadsticks in an airtight container for up to 2 days; reheat before serving.
