Description

Fried ravioli is a fun and crispy appetizer made by breading and frying cheese- or meat-filled ravioli. It’s golden, crunchy, and perfect for dipping in marinara sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 package (9-12 ounces) refrigerated ravioli (cheese or meat-filled)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • Marinara sauce, for dipping
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place ravioli in a bowl and pour buttermilk over them. Let soak for 5–10 minutes.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and garlic powder.
  3. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Remove ravioli from buttermilk, letting excess drip off, then coat in breadcrumb mixture.
  5. Fry ravioli in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  7. Garnish with parsley and serve hot with warm marinara sauce for dipping.

  • Use frozen ravioli if needed—just thaw before breading.
  • Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes for a lighter version.
