- 6 cups chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup cucumber, sliced
- 1 cup frozen peas, thawed
- 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a trifle bowl or large glass bowl, layer the lettuce evenly on the bottom.
- Add layers of tomatoes, cucumber, peas, red onion, and cheddar cheese.
- In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper to make the dressing.
- Spread the dressing evenly over the top of the salad to cover it completely.
- Sprinkle crumbled bacon over the dressing layer.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the layers to chill and flavors to blend.
Notes
- You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream for a lighter version.
- Make sure to spread the dressing to the edges to seal in freshness.
- Best served within 24 hours for peak texture and taste.
