Description

This Easy Seven Layer Salad is a colorful, crowd-pleasing dish made with crisp lettuce, veggies, cheese, bacon, and a creamy dressing layered beautifully in a large bowl. Perfect for potlucks, holidays, and gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups chopped romaine or iceberg lettuce
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup cucumber, sliced
  • 1 cup frozen peas, thawed
  • 1/2 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a trifle bowl or large glass bowl, layer the lettuce evenly on the bottom.
  2. Add layers of tomatoes, cucumber, peas, red onion, and cheddar cheese.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, sour cream, vinegar, sugar, salt, and pepper to make the dressing.
  4. Spread the dressing evenly over the top of the salad to cover it completely.
  5. Sprinkle crumbled bacon over the dressing layer.
  6. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the layers to chill and flavors to blend.

Notes

  • You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream for a lighter version.
  • Make sure to spread the dressing to the edges to seal in freshness.
