Description

Mini Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches made with tender steak, sautéed peppers and onions, melted provolone, served on soft slider buns with a buttery topping.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 large green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 lb shaved steak or thinly sliced ribeye
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp dried thyme or Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and bell pepper, and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add shaved steak to the skillet. Season with garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook until steak is browned and cooked through.
  4. Slice slider buns in half horizontally without separating them. Place the bottom half on a baking sheet.
  5. Evenly spread the steak and pepper mixture over the bottom buns. Top with provolone cheese slices.
  6. Place the top buns over the cheese layer.
  7. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, thyme, and 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce. Brush over the tops of the buns.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the tops are golden and the cheese is melted.
  9. Remove from oven, slice into individual sliders, and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use shaved ribeye or sirloin for authentic flavor.
  • Add mushrooms for extra umami.
  • Prepare filling ahead for quicker assembly before baking.
  • Can be served as a party appetizer or main dish.
