Description

A simple, hearty lasagna made in one skillet for minimal cleanup and maximum flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 6 no-boil lasagna noodles, broken into pieces
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground meat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Add diced onion and garlic; cook until softened, about 3 minutes.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce, water, broken lasagna noodles, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
  4. Reduce heat to medium‑low, cover, and cook for 15–18 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until noodles are tender.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of ricotta over the top, then sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan.
  6. Cover again and cook for 3–5 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from heat and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use no-boil noodles to save time and avoid boiling a separate pot.
  • Substitute ground turkey or Italian sausage for a different flavor.
  • Add a handful of spinach or sliced mushrooms for extra veggies.
  • Leftovers reheat well in the microwave or stovetop.
