Description

This Easy Buldak Ramen Recipe brings the fiery, spicy flavor of Korean fire noodles to your kitchen using simple ingredients. It’s quick, bold, and ultra-satisfying with a rich, slightly sweet, and intensely spicy sauce coating chewy noodles.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pack instant ramen noodles (without seasoning)
  • 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean red chili paste)
  • 1 teaspoon gochugaru (Korean chili flakes, optional for extra spice)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup water or ramen cooking water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 1 green onion, chopped (for garnish)
  • Optional toppings: soft-boiled egg, mozzarella cheese, seaweed flakes, or grilled chicken

Instructions

  1. Cook ramen noodles according to package instructions. Drain and reserve 1/4 cup of the cooking water.
  2. In a small saucepan or skillet over medium heat, combine gochujang, gochugaru (if using), soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and reserved water. Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes until thickened slightly.
  3. Add the cooked noodles to the sauce and toss until evenly coated and heated through.
  4. Transfer to a bowl and top with sesame seeds, green onions, and any optional toppings of your choice.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy the spicy kick!

Notes

  • Adjust spice level by reducing gochujang or omitting gochugaru.
  • Add protein like cooked chicken, tofu, or a fried egg for a heartier meal.
  • Melting mozzarella on top gives it a creamy, cheesy twist like the original Buldak variation.
  • Use fresh ramen or udon for a gourmet upgrade.
