Description

These Delightful Salisbury Steak Meatballs are a fun twist on the classic Salisbury steak. Tender meatballs are cooked in a savory mushroom gravy, creating a flavorful, comforting dish perfect for a family dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into 12-14 meatballs, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs and cook for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and cooked through. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set them aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and dried thyme. Stir until the sauce is smooth and well combined.
  5. Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for 10-15 minutes, or until the meatballs are fully cooked and the sauce has thickened.
  6. Serve the Salisbury steak meatballs with mashed potatoes, rice, or your favorite side dish. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for added color and flavor.

Notes

  • For a richer sauce, you can add a splash of heavy cream or sour cream to the gravy.
  • Feel free to add mushrooms or onions to the gravy for extra texture and flavor.
  • This dish pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes or a side of vegetables like green beans or peas.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated on the stovetop or in the microwave.
