Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well until fully combined.
- Shape the mixture into 12-14 meatballs, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the meatballs and cook for about 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and cooked through. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set them aside.
- In the same skillet, add the cream of mushroom soup, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and dried thyme. Stir until the sauce is smooth and well combined.
- Return the meatballs to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for 10-15 minutes, or until the meatballs are fully cooked and the sauce has thickened.
- Serve the Salisbury steak meatballs with mashed potatoes, rice, or your favorite side dish. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley for added color and flavor.
Notes
- For a richer sauce, you can add a splash of heavy cream or sour cream to the gravy.
- Feel free to add mushrooms or onions to the gravy for extra texture and flavor.
- This dish pairs wonderfully with mashed potatoes or a side of vegetables like green beans or peas.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated on the stovetop or in the microwave.
