Description
Delicious Cherry Pie Bites are mini treats featuring a crisp, golden refrigerated pie crust filled with a thickened cherry filling. Perfect for parties or a sweet snack, these bite-sized morsels combine the classic flavors of cherry pie in easy-to-eat portions baked to perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
Pie Crust
- 1 package refrigerated pie crusts
Filling
- 1 can cherry pie filling (about 21 oz)
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
Topping
- 1 tablespoon sugar (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat and prepare muffin tin: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a mini muffin tin or line it with mini muffin liners to prevent sticking.
- Cut pie crust circles: Unroll the refrigerated pie crusts and use a cookie cutter or a glass to cut out small circles approximately 2 inches in diameter.
- Thicken cherry filling: In a small saucepan, combine cherry pie filling, cornstarch, and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the filling thickens, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
- Line muffin cups: Place each pie crust circle into the mini muffin tin, gently pressing them to fit into the cups evenly.
- Fill crusts: Spoon a small amount of the slightly cooled cherry filling into each pie crust-lined muffin cup.
- Bake: Place the muffin tin in the preheated oven and bake for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the crusts turn golden brown and the cherry filling is bubbly.
- Add topping and cool: Optionally sprinkle sugar on top of each pie bite while still warm. Allow the cherry pie bites to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use refrigerated pie crusts for convenience and quick preparation.
- Ensuring the cherry filling is thickened before baking prevents soggy crusts.
- You can substitute sugar topping with a light dusting of powdered sugar if preferred.
- Let bites cool slightly to set the filling and avoid burns.
- Mini muffin liners make clean-up easier and keep the bites looking tidy.
