- Assemble the Wontons: Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface. Place a spoonful of the cheesecake filling in the center of each wrapper to avoid overfilling and spilling during frying.
- Seal the Wontons: Moisten the edges of each wonton wrapper with a little water using your finger or a small brush. Fold each wrapper into a triangle shape, pressing the edges firmly to ensure they are tightly sealed and will not open when frying.
- Heat the Oil: Pour enough vegetable oil into a deep fryer or a large heavy-bottomed pot to submerge the wontons. Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C), using a thermometer to maintain the correct temperature for optimal crisping without burning.
- Fry the Wontons: Carefully drop the wontons into the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pot which can lower the oil temperature. Fry each side for 2-3 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy.
