Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1 (15 oz) can white beans (such as cannellini or great northern), drained and rinsed
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Optional Garnishes
- Fresh herbs (thyme, rosemary)
- Lemon zest
- Parmesan cheese for serving
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheet: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to ensure the beans do not stick and facilitate easy cleanup.
- Dry the Beans: Drain and rinse the white beans thoroughly to remove any canned liquid. Pat them very dry with paper towels, as removing excess moisture helps the beans become crispy when roasted.
- Coat the Beans: In a mixing bowl, toss the dried beans with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until they are evenly coated with the seasoning and oil.
- Arrange for Roasting: Spread the seasoned beans in a single layer on the parchment-lined baking sheet to ensure even roasting and maximum crispiness.
- Roast the Beans: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and roast the beans for 25–30 minutes. Shake the pan halfway through the cooking time to allow for even roasting and to prevent sticking. Watch carefully towards the end to avoid burning.
- Finish and Serve: Remove the beans from the oven and immediately sprinkle with optional fresh herbs, lemon zest, or Parmesan cheese if desired. Serve the crispy white beans warm as a tasty snack, crunchy salad topper, or side dish.
Notes
- For extra crunch, let the beans air-dry for 10–15 minutes before roasting to remove additional moisture.
- You can also prepare the beans in an air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for 15–18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even crispiness.
