Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Sauce
- 1 packet ranch seasoning mix (approximately 1 ounce)
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
Garnish
- Fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the chicken later.
- Season and sear the chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Place the chicken in the skillet and sear each side for 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare the creamy ranch sauce: Remove the seared chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same skillet, add softened cream cheese, sour cream, chicken broth, and ranch seasoning mix. Stir continuously until the sauce becomes smooth and well combined.
- Coat chicken with sauce: Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, making sure to coat them thoroughly with the creamy ranch sauce.
- Bake the chicken: Transfer the entire skillet to the preheated oven. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C) to ensure it is fully cooked.
- Garnish and serve: Once done, remove the skillet from the oven, sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the chicken, and serve hot with your choice of side dishes.
Notes
- If you don’t have a skillet safe for the oven, transfer the chicken and sauce to an oven-safe baking dish before baking.
- You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream to lighten the sauce.
- Check chicken temperature with a meat thermometer to avoid overcooking and dryness.
- For extra flavor, marinate the chicken with the spices for 30 minutes before searing.
- Try serving this dish with rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables.
