Description

A deliciously creamy broccoli side dish infused with garlic, Parmesan cheese, and crispy bacon, perfect for a comforting and flavorful addition to any meal.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz bacon, chopped
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1.5 cups light or heavy cream
  • 1.5 tsp cornstarch mixed with 1 tbsp water
  • 1 lb broccoli florets
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 0.5 cup shredded mozzarella
  • 0.33 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your broiler to medium heat.
  2. In a large oven-safe skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside on paper towels.
  3. Drain excess fat, leaving about 1-2 tbsp in the pan. Add butter and onion, sauté for 2 minutes.
  4. Add broccoli, season with salt and pepper, cook for 3 minutes.
  5. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  6. Pour in cream and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Add cornstarch slurry if needed to thicken.
  7. Return bacon to the skillet and mix well.
  8. Top with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  9. Broil for 2-3 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  10. Serve immediately, optionally garnished with parsley.

Notes

  • Use heavy cream for a richer dish, or light cream for fewer calories.
  • Customize with other cheeses like cheddar or Gruyère.
