1 cup grated parmesan cheese
-
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
-
Salt and black pepper, to taste

Fresh chopped parsley or basil, for garnish
Instructions
-
Cook the pasta:
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside. -
Cook the chicken:
Season chicken with Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken and cook 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove from pan and set aside. -
Make the sauce:
In the same pan, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
Stir in flour and cook for 1 more minute, then slowly whisk in chicken broth and cream. Let simmer 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
-
Add cheese and season:
Stir in parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. -
Combine:
Slice cooked chicken and add it back to the pan. Add cooked pasta and toss everything together until coated in the sauce. -
Serve:
Garnish with chopped parsley or basil and extra parmesan. Serve hot.
Notes
Add spinach or sun-dried tomatoes for extra flavor.
Make it gluten-free with GF pasta and a GF flour substitute.
Great with grilled shrimp or mushrooms instead of chicken.
