- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until creamy and well-combined (about 2-3 minutes).
- Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Stir in the chocolate chips evenly into the dough using a spatula or spoon.
- Drop rounded tablespoon-sized scoops of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes or until the cookies are golden around the edges but still soft in the center.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 2 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
