Dip Ingredients
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 large bunch fresh cilantro, roughly chopped (stems removed)
- 1–2 jalapeños, seeded for mild or with seeds for extra heat
- 1 clove garlic
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a blender or food processor, add sour cream, mayonnaise, cilantro, jalapeños, garlic, lime juice, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper.
- Blend Until Smooth: Blend the ingredients until the mixture is creamy and smooth, scraping down the sides as needed to ensure everything is evenly incorporated.
- Taste and Adjust: Sample the dip and adjust seasoning or add more jalapeño for desired spice level.
- Chill the Dip: Transfer the dip to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld and develop.
- Serve: Serve chilled with tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or use as a sauce for tacos, grilled meats, or sandwiches.
Notes
- Substitute Greek yogurt for some or all of the sour cream and mayonnaise to create a lighter version of the dip.
- Add an avocado to the blender for a thicker, creamier texture.
