Description

A vibrant and creamy cilantro jalapeño dip that blends fresh herbs, spicy peppers, and tangy lime for a flavorful appetizer or sauce perfect for chips, veggies, tacos, grilled meats, and sandwiches.

Ingredients

Scale

Dip Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 large bunch fresh cilantro, roughly chopped (stems removed)
  • 12 jalapeños, seeded for mild or with seeds for extra heat
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a blender or food processor, add sour cream, mayonnaise, cilantro, jalapeños, garlic, lime juice, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Blend Until Smooth: Blend the ingredients until the mixture is creamy and smooth, scraping down the sides as needed to ensure everything is evenly incorporated.
  3. Taste and Adjust: Sample the dip and adjust seasoning or add more jalapeño for desired spice level.
  4. Chill the Dip: Transfer the dip to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld and develop.
  5. Serve: Serve chilled with tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or use as a sauce for tacos, grilled meats, or sandwiches.

Notes

  • Substitute Greek yogurt for some or all of the sour cream and mayonnaise to create a lighter version of the dip.
  • Add an avocado to the blender for a thicker, creamier texture.
