Description

Church Supper Spaghetti is a comforting, crowd-pleasing baked pasta dish made with hearty meat sauce, spaghetti noodles, and melted cheese. It’s a potluck favorite that’s easy to make and serve.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara or spaghetti sauce
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and onion, cooking until beef is browned and onion is tender. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in garlic, marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5–10 minutes.
  5. In a large bowl, toss cooked spaghetti with half of the sauce mixture.
  6. Spread half of the spaghetti mixture into the baking dish. Top with 1 cup mozzarella and 1/4 cup Parmesan.
  7. Layer remaining spaghetti and sauce, then top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10–15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  9. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Can be assembled ahead and refrigerated until ready to bake.
  • Substitute ground turkey or Italian sausage for a twist on flavor.
