Description

Warm up your Christmas Eve with this luxuriously creamy hot chocolate made in the crockpot. Perfect for cozy gatherings, this rich and velvety drink is easy to make and will delight kids and adults alike. Top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or your favorite holiday garnishes for an extra festive touch.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 6 cups whole milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Optional Toppings:

  • Whipped cream
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Chocolate shavings
  • Candy canes

Instructions

  1. Add the whole milk, heavy cream, and sweetened condensed milk to the crockpot. Stir to combine.
  2. Add the semi-sweet and milk chocolate chips to the mixture. Stir gently.
  3. Cook on low for 2–3 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent the chocolate from sticking to the bottom.
  4. Once the chocolate chips are fully melted and the mixture is smooth, stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt.
  5. Serve hot in mugs and top with whipped cream, marshmallows, or other desired garnishes.

Notes

  • For an extra flavor boost, add a pinch of cinnamon or a splash of peppermint extract.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave before serving.
