Description

Chocolate Whipped Cream Frosting is a light, fluffy, and creamy topping with a rich chocolate flavor, perfect for frosting cakes, cupcakes, or using as a dessert dip.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, cold
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, sift together the powdered sugar and cocoa powder to remove any lumps.
  2. Add the cold heavy whipping cream and vanilla extract to the bowl.
  3. Using a hand mixer or stand mixer with a whisk attachment, beat the mixture on medium-high speed until stiff peaks form, about 3–5 minutes.
  4. Use immediately to frost cakes or cupcakes, or refrigerate until ready to use.

Notes

  • Ensure the heavy cream is very cold for best whipping results.
  • Do not overwhip or the frosting may turn grainy or into butter.
  • Can be stabilized by adding 1 tbsp of instant pudding mix or 1 tsp gelatin dissolved in water.
