Scale
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional, for extra fudginess)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar, whisking until smooth and well combined.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- If using chocolate chips, fold them into the batter at this point.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting them into squares.
- Serve and enjoy the rich, fudgy goodness!
Notes
- For even fudgier brownies, underbake slightly by removing them from the oven when the toothpick still has a few moist crumbs.
- Feel free to add nuts like walnuts or pecans for extra texture and flavor.
- Store brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days or refrigerate for longer freshness.
