Ingredients
Scale
Meat Filling
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
- ½ teaspoon salt
Dough & Cheese
- 1 (8-ounce) can refrigerated crescent roll dough or pizza dough
- 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
Topping & Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the taco sticks.
- Cook Ground Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon. Drain any excess grease, then stir in taco seasoning and salt. Continue to cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until fully combined. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
- Prepare Dough: Roll out the crescent roll or pizza dough into a large rectangle. Cut the dough into 6 to 8 equal sections for individual sticks.
- Assemble Taco Sticks: Spoon a small amount of the seasoned taco meat onto each dough section. Sprinkle each with shredded cheddar cheese. Fold and pinch the edges tightly to seal the meat and cheese inside, shaping each into a stick or log. Place them seam side down on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Add Toppings: Brush each taco stick with the melted butter. Then sprinkle with garlic powder and dried parsley evenly over the top to add flavor and a nice finish.
- Bake: Bake the taco sticks in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until they turn golden brown and are cooked through.
- Serve: Serve warm with your choice of dipping sauces such as salsa, sour cream, or guacamole for extra flavor and enjoyment.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or shredded rotisserie chicken for the beef to change up the protein.
- Use pepper jack cheese instead of cheddar for a spicier version of the taco sticks.
- These taco sticks make a great appetizer, lunch, or game-day snack.
