Ingredients
-
2 cups cooked shredded or sliced chicken (grilled, rotisserie, or leftover)
-
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella
-
1/2 cup shredded cheddar
-
1/4 cup grated Parmesan
-
4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 tbsp chopped parsley (fresh or dried)
-
1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
-
1/4 tsp salt
-
1 large baguette or 1 loaf Italian bread, cut in half lengthwise
-
Optional: red pepper flakes, extra cheese for topping
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment.
-
Make the garlic butter: In a bowl, mix softened butter, garlic, parsley, Italian seasoning, and salt until well combined.
-
Prepare the bread: Spread garlic butter generously over the cut sides of the bread. Place on the baking sheet, cut side up.
-
Layer the filling: Spread shredded chicken evenly over the bottom half of the bread. Sprinkle with mozzarella, cheddar, and Parmesan.
-
Top and bake: Place the top half of the bread on top (or leave open-faced if you prefer) and bake for 10–12 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy and golden.
-
Optional broil: For extra crispiness, broil for 1–2 minutes. Watch closely!
-
Slice and serve: Let it cool slightly, then slice into sandwiches and serve warm.
Notes
-
Add sautéed onions, peppers, or spinach for extra flavor and texture.
-
Make it spicy with sliced jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce.
-
Want a saucier version? Spread a little marinara, buffalo sauce, or ranch inside before baking.
