Description

This Cheesy Beef and Bowtie Pasta is a comforting and flavorful dish featuring ground beef, pasta, and a creamy, cheesy sauce. It’s a quick and easy meal that’s perfect for busy weeknights and will please the whole family.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz bowtie pasta (farfalle)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bowtie pasta according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up into crumbles as it cooks. Drain excess fat if needed.
  3. Add the chopped onion to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the tomato sauce, heavy cream, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
  5. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  6. Add the cooked bowtie pasta to the skillet and toss to coat the pasta evenly with the cheesy sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until everything is heated through.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with freshly chopped basil or parsley for added color and flavor.

Notes

  • If you prefer a lighter version, you can substitute the heavy cream with half-and-half or a lower-fat milk option.
  • You can add vegetables such as bell peppers, spinach, or mushrooms to the dish for extra flavor and nutrients.
  • If you like a spicier dish, try adding red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • This dish can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stovetop with a splash of milk to loosen the sauce.
