Caprese Salad with Balsamic Glaze is a classic Italian appetizer made with ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil leaves, drizzled with a sweet and tangy balsamic reduction for a refreshing and elegant dish.

- 3 large ripe tomatoes, sliced
- 12 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp honey (optional, for glaze)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, add balsamic vinegar and honey (if using). Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 8–10 minutes until it thickens into a glaze. Set aside to cool.
- On a serving platter, alternate slices of tomato and mozzarella, tucking basil leaves between them.
- Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Drizzle balsamic glaze over the top just before serving.
Notes
- Use heirloom tomatoes for more color and flavor.
- Balsamic glaze can be made ahead and stored in the fridge for up to a week.
- Serve with crusty bread to soak up the dressing.
