Description

Candied Strawberries are a delightful treat made by coating fresh strawberries in a hard sugar shell. They are shiny, crunchy on the outside, and juicy on the inside — perfect for dessert platters or gifting.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries, washed and dried
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and corn syrup over medium heat.
  3. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then stop stirring and let the mixture boil until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage) on a candy thermometer.
  4. Remove the saucepan from heat immediately.
  5. Quickly dip each strawberry into the syrup, coating it evenly, and place on the prepared baking sheet to harden.
  6. Let the candied strawberries cool completely before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to help the candy coating stick.
  • Use a skewer or toothpick to dip strawberries safely into the hot syrup.
  • Best enjoyed the same day as they do not store well in the fridge.
