Perfect for a gluten-free, satisfying meal that’s easy to prepare on the stovetop.

Ingredients

Scale

Burger Bowls

  • 1 pound ground beef (85/15)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 cups chopped romaine or mixed greens
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup dill pickle slices
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Caramelized Onion Aioli

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Caramelize Onions: Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the finely chopped yellow onion and cook, stirring frequently, for 10–15 minutes until the onions turn deep golden brown and caramelize. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  2. Make Aioli: In a small bowl, combine the caramelized onions, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well until smooth. Refrigerate until ready to use, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  3. Prepare Beef: In a large bowl, mix the ground beef with garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Shape the mixture into 4 small patties or crumble into bite-sized pieces based on your preference.
  4. Cook Beef: Heat a clean skillet over medium-high heat. Add the beef patties or crumbles and cook for 6–8 minutes, turning or stirring occasionally, until the meat is browned and cooked through.
  5. Assemble Bowls: Divide the chopped romaine or mixed greens evenly among 4 bowls. Top each bowl with the cooked ground beef, halved cherry tomatoes, shredded cheddar cheese, dill pickle slices, thinly sliced red onion, and avocado slices.
  6. Add Aioli: Drizzle the caramelized onion aioli over the assembled bowls or serve it on the side for dipping. Serve immediately and enjoy.

Notes

  • Make it low-carb by skipping the cheese or swapping it with a dairy-free alternative.
  • The caramelized onion aioli can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Add sweet potato fries or roasted vegetables on the side for a heartier meal.
